I think I finally found some anime for my liking. Already started on Log Horizon and it looks really good, a lot more elaborate than SAO. I like it. Had a taste of Kyoukai no Kanata, and I probably will continue it. Not in the mood for much silliness, but maybe its good parts outweighs the fooling around parts. Mekakucity Actors looks fun. Everyone-seems-to-like-it kinda fun, so I might check it out. Uchouten Kazoku is also interesting, and there might be more but I think I have enough for now :3

I did a thing. It’s a chrome extension for Hummingbird.me I wrote it to as a quick search, but then ended up integrating the whole Hummingbird API. You can search a text selection from the context menu, and if you sign in at the extension options with your login, you can use the basic features of the site from the menu as well. Note that it only works if you highlight some text that is an actual anime in the Hummingbird database.
Try it out: Chrome Web Store - Hummingbird Context Search
This is my first published extension, and I throw it together during the weekend. I hope you can find some use to it (and won’t bug out too much).

Finished Canaan. All in all, it was a good show. It became more interesting towards the end as the plot revealed. The ending was especially fine. Left a some lingering threads, but nothing serious. Not a full closure, but you can feel the story has concluded. I recommend it if you have nothing else to watch.

I just finished Coppelion. It ended with a train ride. It was good. I like slow paced anime. The story didn’t jump around places too much. And even thou there was plenty of action, I don’t feel it was a real action anime. IT was worth watching. I like how they didn’t try to stuff the show with compelling things. No fanservice, no over dramatized characters, no big scheme, no evil organization. And even without the usual story elements, or rather, thanks to the lack of them, the show managed to entertain me the whole time. The characters had depth, I could feel for them. There was no big revelation thou the story ended with a relief. To some degree. I recommend it if you wanna take a break and watch something else for a change. It’s a light watch, but not too light, so you still will be able to remember it.

The two states of watching anime

  • don’t know what to watch
  • want to watch everything

AZ: Anime in 2013 Part 1 (by Gigguk)

All in all, last year was cool. I thoroughly enjoyed Shin Sekai Yori. And I’m still glad that I haven’t even finished Attack on Titan first episode. Gargantia was surprisingly good too.

Crunchyroll - FEATURE: Do You Drop Anime?
Well..there are a few show’s I just couldn’t keep watching. But it’s been more of an overdose of a particular genre that ticked me off. I have more problem starting a show..because most of the time the hype and the fandom annoys the hell out of me. I’m getting old..I guess? It bothers me less nowadays thou..I just can’t get bitter because of these, but still.. I remember I barely wanted to watch SAO, then after I saw it I was like “Hell, ok that was..entertaining”. If I ever not continue a show it’s more like because I have no time finishing it..

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaō Promo

It was good. Actually quite entertaining. Not too light on the fanservice, but not too nonsensical either. I really enjoyed it. I recommend it as something light to watch.

I’m tired of moe

I watched NGE 2.22 last night again and I was like..”so this is why I fell in love with anime”… And I remembered what kind of shows I’ve been watching lately..and what kind of shows available these days..it’s terrible..shallow..and tiring. Too much fanservice, too much dumb interactions, unimaginative characters, uninteresting and repetitive plots not to mention the animation is scarce. They squeeze every last bit of moe out of everything these days and it’s not funny nor cute any more. I feel like puking if I think about following the autumn lineup..
